A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from a photographer, one of whom I had never heard. The subject of the message was something like "Scouting Talented Photographer Assistant." So, surprised, I opened the email, and saw that it was sent to my "colum.edu" email and thought "OK, so he found me on the Columbia site, it's safe," and I read. There were no real details. I googled him - I saw where he had worked and that his work is commercial... If you know me, you know commercial is not my favorite, but as Yassine said, it's all about experience and connections. So, so somewhat reluctantly, I set up a meeting. At that meeting I found that, not only is he a commercial photographer, he is a wedding photographer as well and oh! how my attitude changed (a complete 180 degrees, you might say)! It may have also helped that he is a total advocate of a "no stress" policy and is super pleasant to be around... just maybe that had something to do with the change of heart... Oh! and possibly the mention of working in a country that has been on my list to visit for quite some time...
In the future, I will share more about him and my work with him, but for now, I will say this: God really does know the desires of our hearts and, as long as those desires are in line with what is right, He will honor them and give them to you.
Now, bringing all of that back to Morocco, I'm not really sure how the two relate, yet, other than travel because hopefully, I shall be doing some of that with weddings here and internationally so....stay tuned.... :)
Until later, here are a few images that are inspiring me to be a better photographer:
